I don't know about you, but January felt about 3 years too long. Morphing from exhaustion, depression, a huge reading slump, to creative bursts and catching a cold. But we are here, in February, and I want to say, Happy Black History Month!

Usually, due to my nature as a mood reader, I don't make reading lists. I feel the pressure to achieve those goals, and on the coat tails of a bad reading slump, I fought hard to figure out my February hopefuls.

If you didn't know by now, you could hazard a guess that black fantasy is my bread and butter. It encompasses the very essence of my personality while showcasing how bad ass black women/non binary people are and is the representation that is glaringly being overlooked by the fantasy genre and media as a whole. And so, I wanted my list to encompass powerful black women who are the epitome of black girl magic, and black love. Joy. That is what I plan to chase this month.

PLUS, I am re-reading the Legendborn Series in anticipation for Oathbreaker when it comes out next month!
